To help venture ready companies more easily connect to active investors, CONNECT hosts four Venture Roundtables each year: Life Sciences, Clean Technology, High Technology, and Software, Cyber & Web 3.0 (new in 2009). Each showcases five to six pre-screened San Diego innovation companies seeking financing.

The CONNECT Venture Roundtable has four phases:

  1. Call for applications (to apply click here);
  2. Steering Committee review: CONNECT Entrepreneurs-in-residence review applications to evaluate venture-readiness. EIRs also provide follow-up coaching where necessary;
  3. Judging: Industry experts review the list of finalists and select five to six presenting companies based on the commercial viability of the innovation;
  4. Presentations to VCs: Companies present to a group of 10 to 20 investors followed by a reception that includes steering committee members, judges, sponsors, VCs and presenting companies.
