La Jolla Research and Innovation Summit
The La Jolla Torrey Mesa is home to over 50 research institutes known worldwide for their groundbreaking innovations in cleantech, biotech, wireless and IT. In addition, the close proximity of many of the world’s leading scientists creates inter-disciplinary collaborations and strategic alliances not possible anywhere else in the world. As a result, our reputation for convergence innovation is unparalleled.
The La Jolla Research & Innovation Summit, an invitation only program where San Diego’s leading scientists and engineers describe their innovative research to more than 100 venture capitalists in a closed meeting was developed to bring together our leading scientists with active venture capitalists from across the U.S. In this unique setting, VCs have the opportunity to learn from and build relationships with researchers working on advances five and ten years into the future.
This year, CONNECT has assembled a day-long program featuring four panels of San Diego based researchers in the fields of Cleantech, Biotech, High-Tech/ IT and Wireless Health (see below for program for details). In addition, Dr. Roger Tsien, who was awarded the 2008 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, will keynote this year’s meeting.
Their will be a VIP reception on the evening of March 2nd at the Estancia Hotel located next door to the Salk. This pre-summit event is designed to provide our Venture Capital visitors and researcher faculty an opportunity to mingle in a private setting.
**This meeting is INVITATION ONLY. To inquire about attending the summit, please contact Bethany Kraynack at bkraynack@connect.org
