Frontiers in Science & Technology
The Frontiers in Science and Technology lecture series aims to enhance the dialogue between the business community and San Diego’s leading scientists, engineers and researchers.
Frequent lunch seminars showcase the groundbreaking research efforts of San Diego State University, the University of California at San Diego, The Salk Institute, The Burnham Institute, The Scripps Research Institute, SPAWAR and other research institutes in the San Diego region.
Past presenters have enlightened participants in a wide range of subjects. Science lectures have included new drug treatments and the future of stem cells for the aging brain to how computers are changing biology and medicine. Technology lectures range from protecting our infrastructure against terrorist attacks to visual analytics and the power of pixels. The FIS and FIT programs are also committed to highlighting the clean technology in the San Diego region. Recent topics have included bio-energy from algae and the design of green buildings.
