About the Presenters

Sarah Kearney, PRIME Coalition - Founder and Executive Director of PRIME Coalition.

PRIME Coalition is a public charity that empowers philanthropists to place charitable capital into the market-based solutions to climate change. PRIME works closely with foundation grantmakers, DAFs, corporate donors, and individuals/family offices to facilitate investments into early-stage investment opportunities that are optimized for climate impact, attractiveness for commercial follow-on investment, and fitness for charitable capital.  

Before PRIME, Sarah served as Executive Director and Trustee of the Chesonis Family Foundation, a grant making organization that supports energy research, development and deployment. Based on her work, Sarah has been inducted into the Raven Society at the University of Virginia, and awarded the 2012 MIT Ronald Heller Entrepreneurship Award, 2014 Caltech Resonate Award, 2014 Echoing Green Fellowship, the MIT Technology Review’s 2014 35 Innovators Under 35, and the 2015 Forbes 30 Under 30.

Scott Nance, ImpactAssets – Head of Business Development

ImpactAssets enables philanthropist and individual investors to engage in impact investing by providing: impact investment products, including a donor advised fund and impact investing notes and educational resources to support individuals and advisors looking to engage in impact investing and to help build the field of impact investing.

Scott is responsible for overseeing business development activities at ImpactAssets. Previously he was a Principal at ARK Global, a provider of institutional sales and marketing consulting services for leading alternative investment managers. Over his 25+ year career, he has also led and managed sales and distribution efforts for several financial and asset management organizations, including Equinox Fund Management, Robeco, Bank of America and Welton Investment Partners.

Christian Braemer, Benefunder - Chief Executive Officer and Board Member

Benefunder is fueling innovation by providing a marketplace for researchers and philanthropists to come together to solve some of the biggest problems facing our world. We enable access to top innovators while creating more impactful charitable giving.

Christian is a former financial advisor and non-profit executive turned entrepreneur. He is combining his experiences to build Benefunder, a philanthropic financial product and marketplace for the wealth management industry. Christian started his career in the Danish Army as a sergeant/section commander after graduating from Copenhagen Business School. He has owned and operated a restaurant, became the leading salesman with the nation’s top home remodeling firm, got recruited to financial services industry, and launched his first startup in the WiFi/digital media space which was later acquired by OpenEye. He has held volunteer leadership roles with the Swedish American Chamber of Commerce and Hunger at Home. He’s also an entrepreneur in residence at CONNECT.
