Presented by The Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine

Program Overview
The 4th Annual Stem Cell Meeting on the Mesa is an exclusive, one-day symposium which draws together the pioneers responsible for advancing research towards discovering cures for debilitating diseases or injuries. This one-day event will feature renowned researchers from UC San Diego, The Salk Institute for Biological Studies, Burnham Institute for Medical Research, Harvard Medical School, Stanford University School of Medicine and The Scripps Research Institute. These researchers will share their groundbreaking work in a series of four panels: Epigenetics, RNA, Clinical Applications of Stem Cell Research and iPSC.

As this year marks the five year anniversary of the passing of Proposition 71, which established the creation of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) and designated $3 billion in funding for stem cell research and facilities in California, the event will feature a special awards recognition ceremony honoring key proponents of the proposition. Robert Klein, CIRM Chair, will recognize the following individuals:

  • Steven & Lisa Altman
  • Malin Burnham
  • Dr. Marye Anne Fox
  • Dr. Lawrence Goldstein
  • Dr. Edward Holmes
  • Dr. Irwin & Joan Jacobs
  • John Moores
  • T. Denny Sanford
